Products for Baby:
DockATot™: This product has been amazing to us. We use the DockATot™ at home in her crib and our baby went from waking up 3 times a night to sleeping a solid 12-13 hours straight in a matter of a week. The company says, "DockATot™ is a multi-functional lounging, playing, chilling, resting and snuggling dock you can take anywhere." We never leave home without it if we are going to be out of the house for a nap time or a two week vacation somewhere. It has made sleep transitions into new places much easier and our time on our trip more enjoyable. (Everyone is happier when they get more sleep) We usually put into it's travel bag, check it through to our destination or pack it in the car, and put it into a pack-n-play or crib at the destination. The familiarity of having her own sleeping space no matter where we go has changed our hourly nightly wake-ups on the road to full nights sleep. DockATot™ offers two sizes; the Deluxe and the Grand. The Deluxe is suggested for babies 0-8 months and the Grand for children 8 Months to 3 years. Use THIS link to get 10% off all products on your order!
ChooMee Sip'N Caps: If you have ever given your child a food pouch and stopped watching them for 5 seconds, you know that their little hands will squeeze the pouch and get baby food everywhere. (i.e. in their carseat or all over an airplane) That doesn't have to happen anymore! Once we found these mircale caps, our daughter is able to hold her own pouch on-the-go or around the house and it doesn't end in a giant mess. The caps are designed for little mouths, reusable, dishwasher & freezer safe, as well as resistant to food odors and color stains. The caps control the flow of food, are able to be re-capped, and they can be used to carry the pouch on-the-go.
Oogaa Silicone Bowl with Lid and Non-Slip Placemats: We actually love all of the Oogaa feeding time products, but these two have made our life on the road a little cleaner & healthier. We are able to pack fresh fruit or her lunch into her silicone bowl, pop the lid on and go. She can eat in her car seat or wherever we are going. We have used our bowl in museums, at the beach, in restaurants, etc. It is microwave, oven, & refrigerator safe. The non-slip placemat has been so great too. We put it in her snack bag and are able to give her a clean surface to eat from no matter what table we are at!
Ergobaby/TULA Soft Carrier: Since our daughters birth we have always been "baby-wearers," but for anyone who is thinking of traveling with their small children, you should seriously consider investing in a good soft carrier. These carriers will give your baby a safe, comfortable place to nap, will give you free hands to keep touring/eating, and can calm angry toddlers almost instantly. Both brands are designed to keep your baby's hips in the correct position, which means a safe ride for longer periods of time. Our daughter is 15 months now and I still wear her all the time. I wear her down to the beach, to and from my car to the store, on/off the airplane, through the airport, etc. We have several carriers and all have served us amazingly. From birth to about a year, we exclusively used the Ergo Original & Ergo Ventus. Nowadays, we typically use our Toddler TULA, BUT we do still use our Ergo Original too. The Ergo carriers go to 45lbs and the Toddler TULA goes up to 50lbs.
Baby Dan Travel Cot: We love our Baby Dan so much we wrote and entire blog post on why we think all parents should invest in one. The travel bed is about 7 inches longer than the standard travel bed size and packs up to be just as compact. It doesn't weight any more than the standard size beds and is very sturdy. Our daughter was too long for a regular size travel bed before she was transitioned out of a crib, so when we tried to get her to sleep in one it was a battle. She couldn't get comfortable and could only sleep on her size. When we found this extended length travel bed we were so happy and everyone was back to sleeping the same as at home. Win-win! You can find it on the UK's Amazon page HERE.
Mommy's Bliss Gripe Water: Mommy's Bliss Gripe Water is all-natural and made with organic fennel & ginger. It is typically used to help relieve gas and colic in new babies. We started using Gripe Water with our daughter around 2 months old after my sister suggested I try dipping her pacifier in it to help soothe her in the car and it actually helped. She went from directly spitting her pacifier out to sucking on it for 3-5 minutes, which was a huge relief since she would cry until she started choking every single time we got in the car. We started using it to help calm her from that point on. We used Mommy's Bliss on our trip to Europe to help prevent melt-downs on the long airplane rides and to help her stay asleep at night. Per the TSA, you are allowed to bring the full bottle on the plane with you since it is for the baby's health/safety. Mommy's Bliss also offers small travel packs.
Products for Parents (and baby):
Earth Mama Angel Baby Products: This entire line of products has been amazing to us. While I (Tavia) am the primary beneficiary of these products, we also use them with our Little Nomad. After having my first baby, I had only used the Natural Nipple Butter for breastfeeding, but this pregnancy I have joined the companies first ever "Bump Squad" and dove head first into trying out all of their products. I ask myself often, WHY DIDN'T WE USE THESE BEFORE?! First, they are all natural and these days, that's a MUST in this house. Second, every single product they make smells amazing and is safe for adults and children. Third, they are very easy products to travel with. Almost all of their products come with snap on lids or they will click down to stay closed during travel. See my blog post HERE to see how I used their products on our recent trip to Texas. If you are looking to travel and keep your family from having to use chemical filled body products, then Earth Mama Angel Baby is what you are looking for. PS - their Angel Baby Bottom Balm (diaper rash cream) is the best and most used product in this house hold. It has taken our daughters blistering diaper rash from red sores to light pink spots OVERNIGHT. It's magic for the baby bum!
Young Living Essential Oils: Our family has used EOs since January 2015. I originally started using them to help increase my energy and to stay calm at work during my first pregnancy. Since then, I have started using them in almost every single aspect of my daily life; from teeth brushing to cleaning the floors. When we travel, we always bring either our travel diffuser or our home diffuser depending on if we are driving or flying. We also bring along several different oils that can help with anything from sleeping more soundly, to a stuffy nose, to sore achy muscles, or even motion sickness. We personally love Lavender + Cedarwood for a restful nights sleep, Panaway to help with soreness after long drives or flights, and Digize to help keep our digestive track regulated with all the airport/road food! Since realizing how well EOs work, we have completely changed the inside of both our medicine and cleaning cabinets; replacing chemicals with all-natural alternatives. In December 2015 I decided to become a Young Living Distributor and help my friends/family keep their families healthy/safe + get the 24% off wholesale discount and other perks! If you want to give this oily life a try, let me know and I can help you get on board. My member number: 2548831
We use the American Express Delta Reserve card to book our travel and to pay for travel expenses. Why? This card does one mile for every dollar spent and 2 miles for every dollar spend on Delta's website. This means we get double points for booking directly through Delta. We get a companion certificate each year, which gives us a BOGO style ticket for the continental US. (This has saved us thousands over the years). We also achieve medallion status faster, which means more upgrades and TWO free checked bags for every person flying with us. (up to 9 people) The best perk of this card is access to the Delta Sky Clubs in airports across the world. We love the free food, Starbucks coffee, clean bathrooms, comfortable seating, and ample space for our kids to burn energy. The American Express Delta Reserve card waives the annual fee for military members, so this card was a no brainer for us. Apply for yours HERE.
