Accommodations

Washington D.C. - September 2017 - Airbnb

We stayed with 3 adults & 2 toddlers. This apartment is as described. Second floor brownstone with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom. There is a bedroom off of a bedroom, so you do have to walk through it to get the bathroom. However, both bedrooms have doors that shut for privacy. The apartment has cutlery and some kitchen items. Linens and towels are high quality & beds are comfy. The apartment was very clean. There was no intruding noise from the street, so it’s quiet. The nearest coffee is .2 miles away and the Subway is a 15-20 min walk. Street parking is available — we were able to leave our car parked directly in front of the apartment Friday-Sunday! (Loved that) The Internet was fast. The only snag was check in and check out. We waited for a while for check in & it was a bit rushed and a little confusing on what doors needed to be locked to the building. We had already checked out before we got instructions on check out (we just guessed) All in all — if you are headed to NYC you can not beat this price for this clean spacious apartment. You’ll pay 4X that for studio hotel room, BOOK THIS PLACE! Check - in was super easy. We messaged Sara before our stay and she was prompt at replying. I easily walked to the grocery store and again out to grab dinner (and brought it back) We traveled with 2 adults, a 2 year old and a 10 month old. The bedrooms are up stairs (the stairs are narrow and steep) so we were able to eat and socialize after the kids were asleep without them waking. We used noise machine apps on our phones to negate the noise from the street and neighbors. There was an event next door that lasted until about 9pm and some emergency street noise that is unavoidable. If you can, bring white noise. The kitchen is fully equipped, grab some Pam and paper towels before your stay if you plan on cooking (or grab it at Safeway) -- large full size fridge/freezer. The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was clean and easy to use. Towels were nice. There are two washer/dryer combos that we didn't try to use, but they are there for guests to use. The location is amazing. While we chose to drive and park near the National Mall, it would be easy to take public transport (Metro or Uber) Can't forget to say: the provided parking pass is an AWESOME perk!
